As far as what she looks like now, you can follow the progress on the November and December blogposts here on fretwaterlines. She is jus a few days from being down, and she is gorgeous.
Brad
P.S. I HAD notice the size of his arms. He worked out with weights all the time, and he started this habit before becoming a commissioned officer for the US Marine corp. While a Marine, Dad's lifting increased, and at one time he could press a 100 lb sack of cement over his head using only his left arm. The photo in "Hance Rapid" clearly shows the fruits of Dad's efforts to overcome his bout with polio.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15914871012394562094noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-850864763453549626.post-32866017364352894492011-12-29T16:11:08.812-08:002011-12-29T16:11:08.812-08:00Thank you from the entire Hayes Family for going t...Thank you from the entire Hayes Family for going to the effort to stitch together the story of our Dad and his dory. The photo of the "Betty Boop" in whitewater is in "Hance Rapid", and you know they in heavy water and swamped because Dad is soaked and the "Boop" is low in the water. There was no "self-bailing" in the "Betty Boop", rather Dad had a couple of sawed off one gallon Chlorox bottle carabinered into the front area: Bailing her out took a lot of time, especially at one gallon a toss! If you look carefully in this photo you will note Tim's requested camera mount. Dad had me custom mold this out of a redwood 4x4. Tim would click off photos with a cable, and it would be great to score some of those photos. Also visible in the crafty ski binding hatch closure system for the rear hatch. It leaked a little, but was never really tested since the "Boop" never flipped. Thanks again from The Hayes Family
PS What does she look like now?Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15914871012394562094noreply@blogger.com
